- AuditionLead is a free self tape reader for actors - a line reader and a voice-tracked teleprompter in one. Paste or upload your sides, upload or record real audio for your reader, and run a line-by-line rehearsal that advances as you speak.
- How does AuditionLead work?
- Add your script, pick the character you're reading, and attach audio for every other character's line - recorded in-app or uploaded. During a rehearsal, your line reader plays each reader line on cue, then listens as you read your own line and advances automatically when you finish, or after a timer if you'd rather not use your microphone.
- Can AuditionLead run lines with me online?
- Yes - that is the whole app. Upload or record real audio for every other character, pick the part you're reading, and AuditionLead plays their lines on cue, then listens and waits while you say yours. The reader's voice is one you recorded or uploaded yourself.
- Can it read lines with me when I don't have a scene partner?
- That is what it is for. Record a friend reading the other parts, or read them in yourself, and AuditionLead runs the scene back with you as many times as you like - at any hour, with nobody else in the room.
- How do I add my script?
- Paste your scene as CHARACTER: line text, or upload a PDF of your sides (up to 10 pages) and the scene reader parses it for you. Stage directions in parentheses are recognized automatically and skipped during rehearsal - there's no support for uploading a photo of your script, only pasted text or a PDF.
- Does AuditionLead have a voice-tracked teleprompter?
- Yes - the teleprompter tracks your speech line by line as you read, highlighting where you are and advancing when you finish, using the same turn-detection engine behind linespeaker.com's platform, compiled to run in your browser.
- What languages does AuditionLead support?
- Speech recognition currently listens in English. In the future, support will be added for other popular languages.
- Can I record a self-tape while I rehearse?
- Yes. Turn on Record mode to capture your camera alongside your microphone and your reader's audio, mixed together in the browser - a self tape reader and a self-tape recorder in one session. Rehearse as many takes as you like and download the finished tape when you're done.
